The Process |
| |
| For many, the task of developing a website for their
organization can seem a bit overwhelming. In reality, it is
a pretty simple process and should you hire us to develop your
site, we will be there every step of the way offering advice and
suggestions on what to include in your site.
Our process is pretty simple and here's what you can expect:
- Initial Consultation - In the initial consultation,
we will speak with you to find out exactly what your needs and
objectives are and what your looking for in a website. We
will also work with you to determine the look that your going
for in your site because all of these factors are in
consideration when preparing a proposal.
- Preparing a Proposal - We will prepare a full
proposal at no cost or obligation to you. This proposal
will be based on the information gathered in the initial
consultation phase and will include scope of the project,
suggested outline of the site and a breakdown of all fees
related to your project.
- Proposal Approval - Once you receive the proposal,
we will go over it with you to be sure that you understand
everything therein. If the fees are more that you
expected, at this time, we will work with you to determine what
can be scaled back in the project in order to lower the total
development fees. Once you approve the proposal, we will
require a deposit of up to 50% of the total development fees
before we can begin production of your site. We will also
work with you to determine a domain name for your site as well
as check availability of the domain name during this phase if
you don't already have domain name.
- Beginning Production - We will begin production and
continually upload our progress to our production servers
(http://accentweb.net/clientname) so that you will have the
ability to continually monitor the progress of your site.
During this phase is when the actual layout and design of the
site will begin. We will produce screenshots or static
images of what your site will look like and upload them to our
production servers. These screenshots will determine what
your site will look like and will act as a template for the
remainder of the site This is a very critical phase of
the entire project because it builds the foundation for the
entire project. With that in mind, you can expect to be
in touch with us about every other day because we want to be
sure that we're on the right track.
- Phase1 of the Site - Once you are happy with the
look of the site, we will move on to actually building a
functional site. At this point, the site be just a shell
or skeleton but will have functional links that work but go to
blank pages. This allows us to nail down the
functionality of the site before adding the content.
- Phase2 of the Site - Upon your approval of phase1,
we will move onto phase2. At this point we will begin
plugging in content and custom programming. This is where
the site will begin to take shape and start taking on it's
final form. At this time, some clients like to have
others go through the site to be sure everything is working
properly.
- Final Acceptance - When phase2 is complete everyone
spends time going through the site to note any mal-functions or
errors. Once you are satisfied with the final result, we
will ask you to sign a final acceptance agreement which is a
document that simply says that you are completely satisfied
with your site and you agree to pay the balance of your
development fees.
- Payment and Launch - Once we receive your acceptance
as well as your final payment, all deliverables will be turned
over to you and/or uploaded to your hosting server. We
WILL NOT under any circumstances turn over any deliverables
until the final payment is received. Any requests for
services received outside of the scope of the project will fall
under either a maintenance agreement or may need to be quoted
as an independent project.
- Warranty of Work - After the final acceptance
agreement is signed and final payment is received, we give a
30-day warranty on all our work that is within the scope of the
original project. We allow this warranty period to make
any adjustments that may have been overlooked in Phase2 and
Final Acceptance phases of the project. Any work requests
received after this 30-day period will be treated as hourly or
maintenance work or will treated as a new project depending on
the request.
- Site Maintenance - It's always a good idea to keep
your content new and fresh. Each site has different needs
according to its function and purpose and some will need to be
updated more frequent than others. With that in mind, we
will tailor a maintenance package to perform maintenance
on your site. Basically, we will work with you to set an hourly
minimum per month and for guaranteeing a set number of hours,
we will offer our hourly services at a much lower rate.
Once your locked into a discount rate, if the number of hours
go over your set minimum, any additional time will be billed at
your discounted hourly rate. If your site only
needs to be updated on an as-needed basis, we can accommodate
you as well by offering our services on a per-hour basis.
